Offer Description

Study of the effects of shellfish farming load on the Galician estuaries. Contract under the collaboration agreement between the Department of the Sea of the Xunta de Galicia and the University of Santiago de Compostela for the study of the effects of shellfish farming load on the Galician estuaries. Project co-financed by the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (FEMPA) and the Regional Ministry of the Sea.

Contract for circumstances of production.

Bibliographic compilation of modeling studies of the the mass mussel culture polygons and the filtering effect of mussels, two aspects necessary to initialize the model. Obtaining the physical parameters needed to solve the model: number of strings and mussels per pond, density of feces, speed of dissolution of these, flow rate of filtration and flow expulsion of mussels, etc. Implementation of a Lagrangian transport model of the aforementioned parameters. Lagrangian simulation of all the polygons of the estuaries object of this study. To obtain probability maps of average accumulation., Preparation of project supporting reports.
