TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF CARTAGENA  COMPETITION CALLED FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT STAFF GROUP I UNDER THE RESEARCH LINE CHARACTERISATION OF NATURAL AND MODIFIED HYDROGEOLOGICAL PROCESSES THROUGH THE INTEGRATION OF GEOLOGICAL, HYDRODYNAMIC, CHEMICAL AND ISOTOPIC TRAcer TECHNIQUES AND NUMERICAL MODELLING. CATEGORY: GROUP I. Higher Degree Holder (Bachelor, Engineer, Architect or equivalent).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: Bachelor's Degree in Geology.

DEDICATION:  Full time (35 hours/week). Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 18:00.

GROSS ANNUAL REMUNERATION: The worker will receive a gross annual salary of 29,611.82 euros.

PROJECT TITLE: Sources, distribution and transport of pollutants in groundwater to support in-situ remediation actions in coastal aquifers that discharge into lagoons (SUPPORT / REMEDIATE)’

DURATION: The validity of this contract will be linked to the budgetary availability of the line of research: Characterisation of natural and modified hydrogeological processes through the integration of geological, hydrodynamic, chemical and isotopic tracer techniques and numerical modelling.

TASKS TO BE CARRIED OUT:  It will provide support for the ongoing research activities of the TED2021 project in the Cartagena area. Specifically, it will participate in the following tasks: 
- Obtaining and collecting data (geological, hydrodynamic, hydrochemical and isotopic) from boreholes and wells recently constructed as part of the project.

- Carrying out in-situ induced denitrification tests in the constructed facilities and collecting routine data to monitor the test.

PLACEOFWORK: EICM-ETSINO building, 2nd floor, researchers' office in the External Geodynamics department.

Skills/Qualifications

Specific Requirements

Academic training (30%): A university master's degree related to water resources or groundwater will be valued

Specific training (30%): Training/improvement courses in techniques applicable to groundwater hydrology research, and especially with topics related to the tasks to be carried out at the UPCT, will be valued.
 

Professional experience (30%): Experience of working on studies/projects in groundwater hydrology will be valued, especially if they involved the use of geological, hydrochemical and isotopic techniques. A letter from the person in charge of the project/projects indicating the tasks carried out by the candidate will be valued. Experience of scientific dissemination in the scientific field (contributions to conferences and publications in national and international journals), especially on topics related to groundwater hydrology, will be valued. Experience of scientific dissemination to society, especially on topics related to groundwater hydrology, will be valued.

Languages (5%): official certificates in English and/or French.
