Offer Description

We are looking for a Communication Officer specialising in digital channels and design to join the Communication Unit at IGTP and CMCiB, both located on the same work campus.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

External communication:

• Developing and executing a communication strategy for social media.
• Producing and updating digital content for existing and new platforms.
• Supervising and interacting with follower comments in the digital environment.
• Analysing the performance of digital media strategies and presenting impact reports.
• Acting as the webmaster for IGTP and CMCiB websites, keeping content updated in Catalan, Spanish, and English.
• Advising and supporting researchers needing to create websites or social media accounts for their projects.
• Coordinating efforts to meet the general communication needs of IGTP and the specific needs of CMCiB.
• Supporting CMCiB in interactions with clients and their communication and marketing departments to identify success stories and create and disseminate content in various formats and media.
• Assisting in the creation and distribution of satisfaction surveys for internal and external clients.
• Proposing new outreach and education activities and fostering collaborations that promote scientific education.

Internal communication:

• Supporting the execution of the IGTP intranet project.

Design:

• Creating visual materials for digital media, mailings, signage, recruitment campaigns, events, etc.
• Developing impactful institutional presentations.

Other tasks:

• Supporting other activities of the Communication Unit, such as drafting news articles, managing outreach activities, internal communication, videos, etc.

Skills/Qualifications

Mandatory:

• A degree in Communication, Marketing, or a related field, with an interest in biomedicine and science.
• At least two years of prior experience in similar tasks. 
• Advanced knowledge of social media management.
• Expertise in SEO, optimisation, and search engine positioning.
• Proficiency in design, including the use of free and paid design tools (submission of examples is recommended).
• Creativity and the ability to develop original content and transform abstract and complex ideas into accessible designs.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with content creation tools.
• Language proficiency: oral and written Catalan and English (minimum level C1).

Additional considerations:

• Motivation, creativity, initiative, and a proactive attitude.
• Adaptability to work on two different but related projects, part-time on each.
• Strongly valued: ability to understand scientific texts, interest in science, social media, and new technologies; team collaboration skills; and versatility.

Selection process
