The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Engineer II with demonstrable technical background in mechanical design and manufacturing, particularly of robotic medical devices, to play role in transforming ideas into solutions. Playing this instrumental role would contribute to society by driving the realizations of innovative robotics as well as artificial intelligence for better future of rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess requirements then transform into preliminary designs and prototypes.

  • Define and execute the qualifying criteria of every development stage.

  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing and solution deployment.

  • Perform stringent risk and root cause analyses to ensure high-quality.

  • Optimize development’s processes as well as costs.

Requirements:

  • Possess a Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineer Preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or related fields.

  • Solid ownership, user-centred, and quality oriented.

  • Solid experience in designing robotic device/mechatronic system.

  • Proficient in kinematic/motion analysis.

  • Proficient in SOLIDWORKS.

Any of the followings would be plus:

  • Experience in designing and manufacturing consumer products.

  • Proficient in converting non-parametric model to parametric model.

  • Experience in selection of DC motors.
