Responsibilities

• Work closely with course coordinators, cluster manager and IT to prepare the necessary environment for the hands-on sessions.

• Configure and test the equipment set-up and verify that the lab session to ensure smooth operations.

• Prepare for desktop virtualization and ensure that the streaming to all PCs in the lab is error-free.

• Keep course coordinators informed of any technical issues pertaining to hardware configuration and equipment.

• Make available all technical manuals/ specifications as required by the course coordinator.

• Ensure that all teaching resources and equipment are ready to support the hands-on sessions or activities during free access.

• Ensure that the lab is open promptly for access by students and staff.

• Provide support by being present at the start of each lab session to assist with trouble-shooting and during scheduled free access sessions.

• Manage servers’ resources to support all hands-on sessions in the lab.

• Manage student access rights to lab resources during scheduled sessions.

• Assist course coordinators in sourcing quotation and purchase the equipment/development boards/accessories in support of the lab activities.

• Administer servers and virtual desktop environments, if any.

• Take appropriate measures to repair or maintain all equipment.

• Provide technical support to users regarding equipment configuration, use of core equipment, etc.

• Management and maintenance of assets.

• Maintain adequate supply of consumables.

• Managed and ensure the laboratories meeting the safety requirements.

• Support equipment setup required for other official activities.

• Involved in other project activities when required.

Requirements

• Min. a Degree with 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an educational institution.

• Experience working with electrical components (resistors, capacitors) and development boards, including Raspberry Pi and FPGA boards.

• Hands-on experience with electrical equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and digital multi-meters.

• Knowledge in writing and debugging codes in C++, Python, JavaScript and others.

• Knowledge in managing and creating Database.

• Administrating LAN environment linking to estimated 400 units of computers.

• Good teamworking skills.

• Proficient in time management.

• IT savvy, proficient in MS Office applications.

• Meticulous and organized, with the ability to multi-task.

• Proactive, analytical and resourceful.

• Good sense of initiative and responsibility and positive working attitude.
