Prof. Husam N. Alshareef , Chair of the Center of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Storage Technologies (CREST) at KAUST, is seeking postdoctoral researchers with experience in the field of lithium-ion battery recycling. The focus of this position is on material recovery from cathode materials through a groundbreaking filtration and extraction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and lead the development of lithium-ion battery recycling technologies.
- Develop advanced separation technologies including solvent extraction, membranes, and adsorption, for recycling and purification of selected elements from the cathode materials.
- System level performance optimization of metal recovery processes.
- Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
