Overview

The Diéguez research group is focused on the development of technologies for the understanding and diagnosis of diseases in close collaboration with the clinic towards the realisation of precision medicine. For this, we focus on the development of tools and solutions based on microfluidics, biosensors and nanotechnology. 

 

We are looking for a qualified Research Assistant to join our team in the 3D Secret project, funded by the EIC Pathfinder Open 2022, Horizon Europe.

 

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

  • Develop procedures for single cell differentiation into spheroids. 
  • Test protocols related to extracellular matrix and microenvironment impact.
  • Integrate protocols for cell growth in microfluidic devices and micro/nanowell platforms.
  • Integration with Raman spectroscopy for real-time metabolomic testing.
  • Elaboration of weekly reports with results 

 

Mandatory Qualifications

 

Education

  • MSc degree in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Physics, Optical Engineering, or any other related field.

 

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Over 1 year of experience in the following: 
    • Cell culture;
    • Single cells and 3D models;
    • Advanced fluorescence microscopy.

 

Other Valued Skills 

  • SERS
  • Plasmonics
  • Advanced data analysis 
  • Experience in microfluidics

 

Personal Skills

  • “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;
  • Problem Solving ability;
