Te āheinga: The opportunity
As a Student Central Advisor, be the primary point of contact and representative for our institution. This role is essential in supporting learners at every stage of their educational journey, from prospective learners to graduates. This role is for those who enjoy problem-solving and helping others succeed. You will ensure learners' needs are met from start to finish. Manage Enrolments: Ensure learners are registered for their chosen courses accurately and efficiently.
Issue ID Cards: Handle the distribution of ID cards, crucial for campus security and access.
Provide IT Support: Assist learners in navigating and utilizing digital resources effectively.
Offer Course Advice: Guide learners in making academic decisions that align with their goals.
Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison, addressing learner needs and concerns promptly and effectively.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You'll have:
- An understanding or desire to learn te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and the values and practices of kaupapa Māori
- Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience in resolving issues professionally.
- Awareness of issues related to equity, disabilities, and cultural and social needs.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Effective organization skills, including the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to going the extra mile.
- Considerable knowledge of the New Zealand education system.
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Intermediate skills in Office computing applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and Outlook.
- Previous international student advisory experience, work experience in the tertiary education sector, knowledge of Unitec's programmes, experience with Enterprise systems (e.g., PeopleSoft), and foreign language skills. (Desirable but not essential)
