Assistant Lecturer
Support biostatistics teaching courses while completing a PhD and developing your academic career at Lincoln University.
Mō te tūka | The role
Are you passionate about teaching and research in Agricultural Science? This is a unique opportunity to develop your academic career while completing your PhD.
In this role, you will be supporting biostatistics instruction across the faculty's four departments: Pest Management and Conservation, Soil and Physical Sciences, Wine, Food and Molecular Biosciences, and Agricultural Science.
To be considered for this role, you must be eligible to enrol in a PhD programme at Lincoln University.
Key responsibilities
- Teach and support biostatistics courses while pursuing your PhD.
- Deliver tutorials and gradually progress to lecturing under supervision.
- Conduct research and contribute to academic advancements.
- Assist with academic administration and University initiatives.
- Engage in professional development in teaching and research.
Three-year fixed-term role, 20 hours per week (0.53 FTE), Lincoln Campus. Salary: $71,085 - $75,934 per annum (pro-rated for part-time hours).
Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role
We're looking for someone who has:
- Eligible for, or current PhD enrolment at Lincoln University.
- Enthusiasm for both teaching and research.
- Familiarity with probability, regression, ANOVA, and T-tests
- Proficiency in Excel and statistical software (e.g., Genstat, R)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse environment.
- Alignment with Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.
