Mō te tūnga | About the role:

We are looking for someone to add value to the pharmacy delivery team in a part-time (0.8 FTE), 12-month fixed-term role. You will be joining a team of existing programme facilitators who teach across the New Zealand Certificates in Pharmacy (Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5).

This position is an academic delivery role, where you will be teaching students within our pharmacy programmes in our online platform.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Teaching courses in the Open Distance Flexible Learning (ODFL) modality utilising interactive technology and best practice professional standards for online distance learning
  • Providing feedback on course materials and assessments as required
  • Using innovative technology and appropriate interactive teaching strategies to facilitate student learning
  • Providing students with targeted and specific support that develops their knowledge and understanding of the subject matter
  • Working collaboratively within a team environment, that includes our contracted marking workforce, student mentors and other teaching staff
  • Providing feedback to Programme Delivery Managers on course and programme delivery matters

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • A current New Zealand pharmacist registration and hold a current Annual Practice Certificate
  • Proven experience in teaching, mentoring, and guiding adult distance learners
  • A commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a sound understanding of bi-culturalism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong proficiency in office technology
  • The ability to effectively develop and implement priorities
  • Passon for education and a commitment to professional development
  • Good research capabilities
