Job description
We are looking for a highly motivated Teaching Assistant (TA) to support the development and enhancement of courses in the Computer and Embedded Systems Engineering (CESE) master's program. This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to both new and existing courses, ensuring high-quality education in the department of Computer Engineering.
The TA will be primarily involved in:
- Assisting in designing and structuring a brand-new course that focuses on high-performance computing and AI hardware architectures.
- Creating lecture content, slides, and supporting materials to provide a well-rounded curriculum.
- Developing lab exercises and hands-on materials to enhance student learning experiences.
The TA will play a key role in refining and modernizing established courses related to Computer Engineering department within the CESE program by:
- Improving lecture content and lab exercises to ensure clarity, engagement, and alignment with current advancements in computer engineering.
- Updating course materials to reflect industry trends and emerging technologies, making them more relevant for students.
- Supporting course redesign efforts, including restructuring content to enhance the learning experience.

- Provide insightful feedback on the program’s strengths and areas for improvement, based on student experiences.
- Work closely with instructors and coordinators to enhance the coherency and effectiveness of the curriculum.
Job requirements

- Experience with hardware design languages (VHDL, Verilog) and familiarity with modern computing architectures.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing trends.
- Familiarity with recent advancement in the field of Computer Architecture, more specifically AI hardware architectures.
- MSc in a related field.
- Passion for education, curriculum development, and improving student learning experiences.

Faculty Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) brings together three scientific disciplines. Combined, they reinforce each other and are the driving force behind the technology we all use in our daily lives. Technology such as the electricity grid, which our faculty is helping to make completely sustainable and future-proof. At the same time, we are developing the chips and sensors of the future, whilst also setting the foundations for the software technologies to run on this new generation of equipment – which of course includes AI. Meanwhile we are pushing the limits of applied mathematics, for example mapping out disease processes using single cell data, and using mathematics to simulate gigantic ash plumes after a volcanic eruption. In other words: there is plenty of room at the faculty for ground-breaking research. We educate innovative engineers and have excellent labs and facilities that underline our strong international position. In total, more than 1000 employees and 4,000 students work and study in this innovative environment.
