Assistant Professor in Theory of Law/Private Law/Criminology

The Law School at Maqsut Narikbayev University seeks a dedicated Assistant Professor to contribute to our academic community. The successful candidates will engage in teaching, research, and service, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. It is highly expected that Assistant Professor will actively collaborate with students in order to promote academic and research career among them and to create a community of young researchers interested in the field of professor’s expertise. 

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Theory of Law/Private Law/Criminology.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career pathways.
  • Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning outcomes. 

Research:

  • Conduct original research in in Theory of Law/Private Law/Criminology and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Pursue external funding opportunities to support research initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty and students on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Create a community of young researchers interested in the field of professor’s expertise 

Service:

  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees.
  • Engage with the community and contribute to outreach programs.
  • Support the department’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Law from an accredited institution. Preferable areas of specialization: Theory of Law/Private Law/Criminology
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • A strong research agenda with a track record of publications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
