Offer Description

[Background of the recruitment and description of the project]
* Background of the recruitment and description of the project
For the scientific elucidation and engineering realization of intelligence, it is important to understand humans not only from the logical perspective of intelligence but also from the perspectives of sensibility, psychology, and consciousness, and to realize engineering systems based on these perspectives. In particular, sensibility, psychology, and consciousness are indispensable for understanding intelligent interactions both between humans and the outside world, as well as among humans. There are also essential for realizing engineering systems based on such interactions. However, as artificial intelligence research from this perspective is still under development, it is necessary to conduct basic research on artificial intelligence technologies for interaction with humans.
The Department of Intelligent Interaction will conduct the research in information science, interacting with humans to advance artificial intelligence research, beyond the next generation of deep learning. Through this research, the new faculty will collaborate with the artificial intelligence-related, as well as the quantum and device-related, research fields of the First Research Division of SANKEN to advance research in each field and discover new research areas. This department is also expected to promote research in close collaboration with other research divisions and centers of SANKEN, and to develop new academic fields and conduct research that contributes to industrial applications, all while responding appropriately to societal demands.
In addition, this department will serve as a cooperative laboratory for the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology and will be responsible for education and research within the graduate school. This department will also engage in education and research in the Division of Electronic and Information Engineering, School of Engineering.
