Trinity College Dublin- an introduction

Post Summary:

Role overview: The Research Assistant will support a study investigating how motor neuron diseases (MNDs), particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and primary lateral sclerosis (PLS), affect brain network dynamics using high-density EEG. Responsibilities include data collection, preprocessing, and signal analysis to investigate neural networks. By integrating these findings with neuropsychological and functional assessments, the post-holder will contribute to identifying EEG-based candidate biomarkers for distinguishing ALS, PLS, and healthy controls (HC). This work will advance our understanding of disease-specific neural alterations and aid in developing data-driven approaches for MND classification and stratification. The Research Assistant will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in EEG acquisition and processing, data analysis, neuroscience, and clinical research.

Salary: Appointment will be made on the Research Assistant Salary Scale, starting at Irish Universities Association (IUA) Point 1 (€32,962 per annum) in line with Government Pay Policy.
