Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated a Post-doctoral researcher to work within a project that will be directed by Professor Noel Caplice at CRVB, UCC. The aim of the project is to determine if a specific bacteria can alter the biochemical, systemic and cardiovascular features of metabolic syndrome in a novel clinical scale experimental model. This project will involve measurement of molecular, biochemical and physiological parameters in a well-established model of metabolic syndrome. Additional work will concentrate on identifying the active compound in Probiotic under study. Candidates should have a PhD with relevant molecular or biochemical experience. Expertise in cell culture, western analysis, PCR, and chemical analysis of constituent components is desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to have strong experimental skills as well as a significant track record of research accomplishments.

UCC is an accredited research organisation and as such can form hosting agreements with third country nationals (and non-EEA nationals) for the purpose of conducting research in the University.

Salary: €44,847 - €51,313 p.a. IUA PD1 Scale
