Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis (LIOS) - the leading drug discovery centre in the Baltic countries is offering One permanent position of principal investigator /the Group Leader of Metabolic Research Group. The position is offered within the scope of European Regional Development Fund project TARGETWISE. The candidate will be responsible for the development of her/his Metabolic Research Group, consisting of five group members. Eligibility

We are searching for the candidate with

PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field. Established scientific record in bioinformatics, data science and knowledge of omics Proven leadership and management skills (>2 years). Applications must be in English and include:

  • Motivation letter (up to 1 A4 page), particularly outlining experience in bioinformatics, data science and knowledge of omics;
  • CV in Europass format, providing data of work experience, education, trainings and mobility, personal skills (language skills, communication skills, organization/managerial skills, computer skills), publications (indicating the contribution of applicant to the publication, number of citations, impact factor of the journal), h-index, monographs, participation in international conferences (outlining the invited lectures), patents, projects (indicating the role of the applicant in the project), honors and awards, memberships, supervision and mentoring, teaching. CV should also include information about the applicant's three most significant publications, explaining their impact and importance in the field;
  • Names and contact details of at least two referees who have agreed to be contacted;
  • Strategic development plan of the group (up to 3 pages including references) – will only have to be submitted at the second round of the selection process.
