DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRIAL AND SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

Research Assistant Professor in Logistics and Data Analytics / Advanced Materials Processing Technologies / Blockchain and Smart Manufacturing (three posts) (Ref. 250210021)

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering offers a wide scope of multi-disciplinary undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and actively engages in various applied research and consultancy work with the community.  Please visit the website at http://www.polyu.edu.hk/ise for more information about the unit.

Duties

The appointees will be required to:

(a)   conduct research that leads to publication in top-tier refereed journals;

(b)   pursue actively external research grants, such as General Research Fund, as Principal Investigator;

(c)   provide quality teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level;

(d)   contribute to departmental service; and

(e)   perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)   have a doctoral degree in a related discipline;

(b)   preferably have at least two years of postdoctoral research experience

(c)   have demonstrated promise of a high level of creative ability in research and teaching in some subdivisions of his/her field;

(d)   be able to demonstrate effective classroom teaching skills;

(e)   and be a good team player and have excellent communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive package including a medical benefits plan and a gratuity payable upon completion of the term which is normally for two to three years initially, with possibility of extension.
