Applications are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in the School of Innovation, (Ref.: 531266), to commence on August 1, 2025 or as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The School of Innovation has been newly established by the University to provide interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship. The School will offer both undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Science or a related field, along with a proven record in curriculum development, design and teaching of undergraduate courses in science, mathematics, engineering, innovation and technology. Effective communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to connect theory with practical applications by engaging with industry professionals and fellow academics. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in project-led learning pedagogies and innovative teaching methodologies.  

The appointee will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of mathematics, science, and engineering technologies, as well as designing and implementing experiential learning programmes for students.  He/She will actively engage students in learning through interactive practices and incorporate these methodologies into their teaching approach.  Additionally, he/she will contribute to student advisory and administration of undergraduate programme, and participate in knowledge exchange activities connecting with the industry and the public. Candidates with twelve years or more of teaching experience at the tertiary level or equivalent professional working experience will be considered for the position of Principal Lecturer.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
