Offer Description
Ensure the pre-clinical development of DV188
Contribute to the common running of the laboratory. Ideal position for a young doctor.
- in vivo rodent activities: intracranial xenografts of cells from patients with glioblastoma, real-time monitoring of tumour development, histological analysis, treatment of mice.
- ex vivo activity: culture of patient-derived cells and organoids, cell biology, molecular biology, routine biochemistry, etc.
The position to be filled is part of a collaborative project between a young start-up (Virtu Therapeutics) and an academic laboratory (INSERM Dr Virolle team, iBV Nice), within the Valrose biology institute in Nice. The project is financially supported by Virtu Therapeutics and EMA funding from the PACA cancer research cluster.
Dr Thierry Virolle's team is studying the plasticity of glioma cancer stem cells and the functional heterogeneity found within these tumours and resulting from this plasticity. The aim of this project is the pre-clinical development of a molecule, DV188, identified and developed by this INSERM team to induce the differentiation of glioblastoma cancer stem cells (an incurable primary brain tumour), thereby inhibiting their tumorigenicity and making them sensitive to chemotherapy. This project is based on solid results obtained after a 5-year maturation plan funded by the Cancéropole PACA. Following this maturation, the team recently founded Virtu Thérapeutics, an iLab-2023 winner, to ensure the pre-clinical development of the molecule.
Duration: 1 year, potentially renewable
