The Institut Mines-Télécom brings together the major French engineering schools around major industrial, digital, energy, and ecological challenges. With its 8 public Grandes Écoles and 2 affiliated schools, it is the leading public institute dedicated to engineers and managers. Together, we imagine and build a sustainable future by training the actors who will shape tomorrow's transitions.
🔍What we expect from you
As Permanent Associate Professor position, specializing in Circular Economy and Sustainability, you are at the heart of our missions in education, research, and innovation, assigned to the Institut Henri Fayol and the UMR 5600 Environment Ville Société. Within this center, you combine scientific passion and societal impact.
The Institut Henri Fayol is committed to current transformations in the context of digital, ecological, and industrial transitions, which are at the heart of the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of industry and territories. It deploys a multidisciplinary strategy combining strong skills in industrial engineering, environmental sciences, management, and applied mathematics in conjunction with the research units EVS UMR 5600, LIMOS UMR 6158, and COACTIS.
Your research will be conducted within the CNRS Environment Ville Société laboratory (UMR 5600 EVS), which studies environmental interactions and societal issues through an interdisciplinary approach. The laboratory analyzes the environmental and societal challenges of urban and territorial transformations, particularly in the fields of water, waste, energy, and materials. The laboratory is structured around several themes favoring the sharing of knowledge. You will integrate the "Flux et circulations" theme, dedicated to the study of material flows.
Your objective will be to contribute to the consolidation of existing research work within the department, particularly in the field of circular economy and sustainability. You will develop your research activities in connection with the department's themes and the laboratory's scientific projects. You will also participate in the development of research and training activities in this field.
The contexts and objectives are:
- Education : Design and deliver innovative courses in environmental sciences (strong sustainability, circular economy, low-tech), adapted to contemporary challenges, to train the leaders and engineers of tomorrow within the Civil Engineering program, master's, post-baccalaureate.
- Research : Conduct high-impact research in the field of circular economy and sustainability, recognized through scientific publications, and collaborate with the socio-economic world (industry, services, communities, etc.) for innovative and sustainable solutions. The skills expected relate to socio-techno-ecological approaches to the design, analysis and/or evaluation of man-made systems, as well as the application of the principles of strong sustainability and participatory, multi-actor approaches.
- Innovation : Actively contribute to cross-disciplinary projects in a dynamic environment open to collaborations supported by public and private funds, in France and internationally.
Your ability to work in project mode and to bridge education, research, and practical application will be essential for success.
