Copenhagen Business School (CBS) invites applications for a vacant three-year postdoc on social, cultural, legal and economic impacts of transformative technologies on Scandinavian actors and artists in the Department of Business Humanities and Law (BHL).
The postdoc position is a 3-year, full-time contract with research responsibilities, connected to the research project ‘Transformative Technologies, Creativity, and Value Creation in the Cultural Sector (CreAIte)’ which is a Norwegian Research Council funded research project led by BI Norwegian Business School in collaboration with Copenhagen Business School, Kristiania University College, and Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Applicants should have an interest in the overall theme of the research project which is the impact of transformative technologies on the cultural sector in Denmark and Norway. The Postdoc's research will focus particularly on the consequences of transformative technologies for the practices, relationships, and transactions of actors and artists. The research will involve fieldwork in the Danish and Norwegian cultural sectors, examining technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence in the arts. The position entails a considerable element of data collection and analysis. Therefore, experience with qualitative research methods, particularly in conducting focus groups, interviews, and in-depth case studies, is essential for the position. Knowledge on AI technologies, and experience with quantitative and computational research methods, such as data mining and other digital humanities methods, is an advantage. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in both traditional and innovative research methodologies applicable to the cultural sector. Furthermore, knowledge on the cultural sector is an advantage.
The project team based at CBS will consist of three senior researchers, a Postdoc and a research assistant. CreAIte moreover has six senior researchers and a PhD-student. Research team members have backgrounds in business studies, legal studies, cultural studies, economics and philosophy. The research project begins on 1 January 2025 and ends on 31 December 2028.

About Department of Business Humanities and Law at CBS
Core research areas of the Department of Business Humanities and Law are organized into different research Units: Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership; Governance, Culture and Learning; and CBS Law. Faculty within these groups have research backgrounds in all areas of law, political science, sociology, philosophy, history, anthropology, literature, theology, aesthetics, design and innovation, tourism and leisure management, cultural economics, leadership and strategy, pedagogic study, and other areas.
The position will be affiliated with the Governance, Culture and Learning unit. What unites faculty is an overriding concern for the organization of the human within its multiple environments: work, nature, economy, civil association, the state, and corporation. BHL also participates in numerous interdisciplinary cross-CBS activities. In line with this concern, the postdoc should demonstrate a capacity to bridge across several of these environments and place the human at the heart of the project.
To fulfil the requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the activities of the Department.

Qualifications
- The applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent and should have a background in a discipline relevant to the above research project. In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on research potential and relevance.
- Proven skills in at least one of the research areas listed above.
- Regarding methodological skills, experience in conducting qualitative research is required.
- Documented research track record at international level, including publications (or submissions) in recognized journals in one or more of the relevant fields.
- The applicant must be proficient in English (written and spoken).
