The job position was created with the financial support of the European Union within the LERCO project, registration number CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003, through the Operational Programme.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for the position of:
- Excellent Worker and Key Worker with a focus on microscopy and biophysics
Type of Systematized Position: Researcher III
Expected Start of Employment: April 2025 or by agreement
Expected Working Load: 100 % (10 % Excellent Worker and 90 % Key Worker), on a fixed-term basis for the duration of the LERCO project (maximum until December 31, 2027)
Language in Which the Selection Procedure Will Be Conducted: English
Salary Conditions: In accordance with the Internal Salary Regulations of the University of Ostrava
Job Responsibilities:
- Participation in the LERCO project CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003 within the research program VP 6 "Research and Development of New Therapeutic Methods for Blood Cancers."
- The Excellent Worker determines the direction of research, development, and innovation activities in the relevant field. They are a leading scientific figure who significantly contributes to the development of the field internationally and leads research teams. They independently solve complex scientific research/development tasks of significant importance for the advancement of their field, initiate research projects, lead research teams, and collaborate with international researchers. They have an active publication record according to the field's requirements and in line with the standards of creative activity at the University of Ostrava.
- The Key Worker is an essential part of the research team, when he independently solves sophisticated methodological procedures based on prior consultation with the senior worker.

Skills/Qualifications
Qualification and Other Requirements:
- PhD degree in biophysics, physical chemistry or related fields
- long-term experience in advanced microscopy techniques and biophysics
- H-index ≥10
- authorship of primary scientific papers in T-cell biology
- EU Research Level: „R3 – Established
- good knowledge of English (B2) for communication with our foreign scientists and foreign suppliers (web, email)
- very good organizational and communication skills
- reliability, diligence and responsibility, especially with regard to compliance with project rules and deadlines
- positive, independent and creative approach to work
- ability to solve assigned tasks promptly
- ability to work in a team
- knowledge of working with standard office software
- experience in a higher education environment is an advantage
