The Cyprus Institute invites applications for a highly qualified and motivated professional to join the Institute’s STARC Centre on a full-time basis or part-time basis for its premises at Athalassa’s Campus.
The successful candidate will work closely with the inaugural ERA Chair and the PI to develop the organisational structure of the archaeological science research group, and to identify national and international research and other funding opportunities specific for archaeological science. They will also coordinate the activities of the ERA Chair project ‘One Archaeological Science in the BEMME Region’, including hiring staff, organising training and outreach activities, managing project funds, and offering grant writing support as needed, in close communication with CyI operational staff. In addition, they will focus on the development of cross-sectoral stakeholder relations, actively linking the ERA Chair to government agencies, SMEs and NGOs, promoting joint activities with and organizing training for these stakeholders, and support the ERA Chair in establishing programs that will allow better interaction with SMEs such as providing instrumental analytical resources and associated knowhow as well as administrative and IP Rights (IPR) support for archaeological applications.
Activities will also include pursuing innovation through local and regional partnerships, IP management, enhancement of contacts with stakeholders, identification of collaboration opportunities, connecting research outcomes to possible exploitation, as well as raise awareness in society for the importance of archaeology and cultural heritage to modern society.
