Offer Description
The University of Rijeka, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, invites applicants for a position of Teaching and Research Assistant in the Department of Art History.
From the applicant it is expected to be R1 researchers (First Stage Researcher), PhD candidate in the field of Art Theory and to have experience in working with students in the field of contemporary art as well as mediation and critique of visual arts.
The language of teaching is Croatian, and, therefore, the applicant's communicative competence in the Croatian language should be at the highest (C2) level.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates must meet the requirements of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Zakon o visokom obrazovanju i znanstvenoj djelatnosti, Narodne novine n. 119/22) and other legal acts that are based on it and are required to submit evidence of this.
Specific Requirements
Candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- a self-signed application,
- a CV,
- a copy of an identification document,
- a copy of the academic degree certificate (if issued by a university outside Croatia, a certified translation in Croatian and a proof of the degree’s recognition or of an application for its recognition issued by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education),
- transcript of grades of all exams during studies.
Preference will be given to applicants who are PhD candidates in the field of the theory of modern or contemporary art and have experience in working in higher education with students in the field of the history and theory of contemporary art, as well as experience in working with students in the area of mediation and critique of visual arts.

Selection process
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences reserves the right to assess the candidates' knowledge and competences and hold interviews with them. Candidates will be informed about the possible need to attend testing or an interivew in detail after submitting their application. A candidate who does not present himself/herself at the testing or the interview will be considered to have withdrawn his/her application and will no longer be considered a candidate.
