Postdoctoral Positions in Atomic Quantum Computing
Fudan University
Location: Shanghai, China

The Atom Quantum Computing Lab at Fudan University, led by Professor Xiaopeng Li is seeking exceptional candidates for postdoctoral positions in quantum information theory and atomic experimental physics. Our lab focuses on developing scalable quantum processors using neutral atom arrays, with a strong emphasis on bridging theoretical innovation and experimental breakthroughs.


Position Details

We invite applications for two distinct roles:

1. Quantum Information Theorist

· Research Focus: Develop novel theoretical frameworks for atom-based quantum computing, including but not limited to:

Quantum error correction, fault tolerance, and resource optimization.

Entanglement dynamics, quantum control protocols, and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms.

Modeling and benchmarking atomic qubit architectures.

· Collaboration: Work closely with experimentalists to design and optimize protocols for qubit manipulation, gate operations, and system scalability.

2. Atomic Experimentalist

· Research Focus: Advance experimental capabilities in atomic quantum computing, including:

Laser cooling, trapping, and manipulation of atoms.

High-fidelity quantum gate operations and state readout.

Integration of optical tweezers, cavity QED systems, or quantum sensing technologies.

· Technical Development: Innovate in vacuum systems, laser stabilization, and real-time control software for scalable qubit architectures.


Qualifications

· For Theorists:

PhD in quantum information, theoretical physics, computer science, or related fields.

Strong background in quantum algorithms, error correction, or many-body quantum systems.

Proficiency in numerical simulations (e.g., tensor networks, quantum circuit modeling).

· For Experimentalists:

PhD in atomic/molecular/optical (AMO) physics, quantum engineering, or related areas.

Hands-on experience with ultracold atoms, trapped ions, or optical trapping techniques.

Expertise in laser systems, RF/microwave control, and/or quantum measurement techniques.
