Position Summary

Teaching Assistants will assist 1st year medical students in anatomy dissections (12 hours). Teaching Assistants must demonstrate an excellent ability to teach human anatomy in the anatomy lab and effectively guide students during dissection the thorax (heart and mediastina). Teaching Assistants will also participate in the supervision and facilitation of anatomy review time (4 hours) as well as the preparation (2 hours) and invigilation (1 hour) of the anatomy lab exam (3 hours total). Six (6) laboratory sessions (of 2 hours each) are part of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry curriculum.

  • October 30, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • October 31, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • November 5, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • November 5, 3:00 - 5:00 pm

  • November 6, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • November 7, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • November 26, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • November 27, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

  • November 28, 12:30 - 2:30 pm

Tentative Exam Dates:

  • Set-Up: December 12

  • Invigilation: December 15


Qualifications

Must have previous laboratory experience in human anatomy on topics relevant to the course description. Strong knowledge of circulatory anatomy, experience with thoracic dissection and good communication skills are essential.

Effective communication skills in English are essential. Communication in French is an asset.
