Description: An introduction to the main principles of ecology; the science of the interactions of organisms with each other and with their environment. Topics include physiological, behavioural, population, community, and applied aspects of ecology (e.g. disease ecology, climate change impacts, and approaches to conservation). Emphasis is given to understanding the connections between ecology and other biological subdisciplines

Minimum Qualifications

Successful candidates should have or be near completion of their Ph.D. Candidates should have teaching experience in ecology. Experience with coordinating discussions in large courses would be an asset

Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.

Duties

Specific duties include designing and delivering lectures; regular office hours; preparation of mid-term/final exams, tutorial materials, term assignment relevant materials; marking/grading, and miscellaneous clerical tasks.   

Please note all course elements are in person at the UTSC campus. There are no hybrid options in the Department of Biological Sciences at UTSC for lectures, tutorials, laboratories or exams.
