The Subject Matter Expert is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and product strategists to create a learning atmosphere which is pedagogically sound, technically supported, and innovative in nature. SAIT's Continuing Education & Professional Development department is looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide guidance on courses relating to Data Analytics and Machine Learning for our new Carbon Capture Management Program! This course area will focus on developing skills in data analysis and visualization for carbon management decision-making, utilizing tools and techniques to interpret carbon data and trends. Our ideal candidate will have related industry experience in data analytics, machine learning and visualization techniques for carbon management applications. Proficiency in analyzing carbon-related datasets, predictive modeling and decision making tools is essential. Anticipated start date: March 2025Anticipated end date: End of March 2025The RoleAs a Subject Matter Expert, you will:Provide strategic guidance and leadership for the new face to face courses.Work collaboratively with a Product Strategist and Instructional Designers to create specific deliverablesHave availability for meetings during regular business hoursMeet all agreed upon deadlinesBe responsive with communication - within a dayQualificationsRequired:Post secondary diploma in a related field with a focus on database management3-5 years of experience in data management, data analytics, data science or a related roleProficiency in analyzing carbon-related datasets, predictive modeling and decision making toolsExperience with industry software and using AI-driven insights into carbon capture management practicesExperience performing coding in Python and R; Advanced knowledge of SQL Queries, Design & ImplementationFluent in English reading and vocabularyComfortable speaking to the publicPositive & respectful attitudeAbility to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculumExcellent communication skillsAbility to organize and present written informationDesired:Previous experience with curriculum development or instructional design projectsExperience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentalsFormal training or education in facilitation or teaching considered an assetFormal training in online technologies considered an assetAbility to meet deadlinesExcellent communication skills and works well collaborating with teamsAbility to hit the ground running Positive & respectful attitudeAbility to organize and present written informationFluent in English reading and vocabularyJob Location: Calgary, ABJob Classification: Adjunct Instructor# of positions: 1Posting closing date: March 16, 2025Position end date: August 31, 2026Apply for this job
