Offer Description

Two post-doctoral fellowships funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) are available. One candidate will be based at the Genomics Group in the Department of Genetics of the University of São Paulo's Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ-USP) in Piracicaba, São Paulo state, Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Claudia Barros Monteiro. The second candidate will be based at the Sylvio Moreira Citrus Center in Cordeirópolis, São Paulo state, Brazil, in the laboratory led by Prof. Alessandra Souza.

The positions are intended for highly motivated researchers with strong computational background, capable of working independently and collaborating effectively with the research team. The selected candidates will be expected to work in constant collaboration. Both postdocs will be working under the aegis of the Smart B100 Advanced Research Center, a Science Center for Development (SCD) supported by FAPESP and hosted by the Agronomic Institute (IAC), which is linked to the São Paulo State Department of Agriculture and Supply.

Application requirements: Ph.D. (obtained within the last seven years) in a relevant field related to Bioinformatics and Genomics, with prior experience and published work; experience in integrating data into biological networks; immediate availability will be considered a plus.

The fellowship duration is precisely 24 months. Applicants should submit a CV, a cover letter, and a letter of recommendation to cbmontei@usp.br (subject: BCO FAPESP).

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Each selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
