Who we are.
The research group "Cooperative Systems" at the Faculty of Computer Science deals with innovative research topics at the interdisciplinary interface between ICT, microeconomics and user research, and their application in future telecommunication, energy, transport and health systems as well as in the cultural domain. The focus of our efforts is an adequate contribution of computer science to the added value for society in the context of the digital transformation.

As part of the further development of the Cooperative Systems Research Group (COSY) at the Faculty of Computer Science, we are looking for a dedicated staff member in the field of energy informatics.
The focus of your work will be the processing of scientific questions in the area of the research group as well as the cooperation in national and/or European research projects.
As a university assistant predoc you will complement the research team around Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter Reichl and take over tasks in the context of research, teaching and public relations of the research group Cooperative Systems.
The focus of your work will be directed towards high-quality research and teaching as well as active participation in the scientific discourse.
The contract duration upon employment is 3 years. If the work progresses accordingly, an extension to a maximum of 4 years is possible.
Your essential tasks:
- Participation in research, teaching and administration
- Participation in national and/or international research projects
- Publication activities and Participation in project applications and acquisition of Third party funding
- Completion of a dissertation
- Teaching activities and participation in student supervision
Specifically, you will actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:
- You will participate in research projects and scientific studies in the research areas of the Cooperative Systems research group.
- You are expected to work torwards your dissertation and its completion.
- You are expected to complete your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
- You will independently teach courses to the extent stipulated in the collective bargaining agreement.
- You will take on administrative tasks in research & teaching.
Your personality:
For this position, it is mandatory that you have a relevant university education in computer science or electrical engineering or a related field.
Likewise, your research subject must be in computer science (ideally: energy informatics) or a related field.
In addition, experience in national or international research projects as well as in communicating scientific results to a broader audience is desired.
Other requirements:
- Completed diploma/master's degree with honors in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Scientific interest in the following direction desired: Focus on energy informatics
- Ability to perform scientific work independently
- Experience in participating in research and development projects in a national and international environment as well as in third mission activities desired
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English
- Very good communication skills, high level of written and oral expression, ability to work under pressure and in a team

If the work progresses accordingly, an extension to a maximum of 4 years is possible.
