Offer Description
One vacant position for a full-time university assistant (m/f/d) is available at the Chair of Materials Science and Testing of Polymers in the Department Polymer Engineering and Science. Start from the earliest possible date in an employment contract limited to three years.
Salary Group B1 according to the Uni-KV, monthly minimum salary excl. Szlg.: € 3.714,80 for 40 hours per week (14 x per year), actual classification is according to previous relevant experience.

What can you expect?
Exciting and varied work: Material design and functionalization of thermoplastics with regard to application-specific micro- and nanoplastic reduction
Communication: Presentation of research results at international specialist events and workshops
Documentation: Responsibility for documenting the progress of the project (progress reports, meetings, etc.)
What do you bring with you?
Education: Completed Master's degree in the chemistry, physics, technical chemistry or physics, plastics technology or materials science in combination with a high level of technical understanding
Experience: Profound knowledge of the chemistry and physics of polymeric materials, in particular with regard to morphology and structure including their analysis, as well as in the field of material modification and optimization
Language skills: Excellent knowledge of German and English (written and oral)
IT skills: Very good knowledge of the entire MS Office package, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Personal qualities: High motivation and initiative, independence, ability to work in a team and organizational skills as well as the willingness to write scientific publications; willingness to write a dissertation
Willingness to travel
Professional appearance and negotiating skills as well as enjoyment in dealing with project partners from a wide range of disciplines and countries
