Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Plant Hydraulics
Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment | 12-month full-time appointment | Level A

The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment (HIE) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support an ARC Discovery Project exploring the survival of forests under drought stress. Based at our picturesque Hawkesbury campus, the successful candidate will work alongside leading international researchers, including Professor Brendan Choat, Professor Ben Smith, and Dr Herve Cochard (INRAE, France).

In this role, you will investigate how water transport systems in plants—roots, stems, and leaves—fail and recover under extreme drought conditions. Your work will include conducting experiments, interpreting complex data, publishing in high-impact journals, and presenting findings at major conferences.

This is your opportunity to contribute to globally significant research, collaborate with experts across continents, and access state-of-the-art facilities that make HIE a leader in climate change and ecosystem science.

Remuneration: $95,248 to $115,074 p.a. (Academic Level A), plus 17% super and leave loading.

Location: Hawkesbury Campus (Richmond, NSW)
