Base salary will be in the range $78,871.35 - $105,004.02 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A)

About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Officer to provide specialist research/technical subject matter expertise in support of high-quality research and translation outcomes at all stages of the project. The project will involve exploring the intricate molecular and synaptic processes underlying neuronal plasticity, utilising advanced techniques and methodologies. The successful applicant will work closely with the Lead Chief Investigator Professor Frédéric Meunier, and the other members of the research team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
Completion or near of a PhD in neuroscience or relevant field
An emerging profile in research in neuronal biology
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences
Experience in optical and electron microscopy required
A good understanding of trafficking neurodegenerative pathways
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a multidisciplinary background
