About the opportunity

The Northern Sydney (Arabanoo) Precinct is welcoming applications for a Postdoc Research Associate - Imaging to join their team. The Northern Clinical School is a teaching hospital of the Sydney Medical School headquartered at Royal North Shore Hospital.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate works under broad supervision, performing tasks independently to deliver against goals. They choose appropriate methods of work and plan and prioritise tasks. They are a subject matter expert and provide advice as the first point of contact for their expert area. They also resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and collaborate with others to resolve complex matters.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • conduct research on PET scans in neuroendocrine tumors, both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the field's knowledge.

  • develop and refine research skills under senior academic supervision, ensuring quality and excellence in research activities and outputs.

  • provide informal mentoring and advice to students, and carry out administrative tasks while contributing to faculty/school meetings.

  • foster a positive workplace culture, interact professionally with the university community, and contribute to the strategic direction of the faculty/school.

  • maintain an understanding of the university’s strategic agenda and undertake other duties and projects as required.

About you

  • PhD in a relevant field

  • advanced skills in imaging data analysis, statistical analysis tools, and research reporting.

  • experience in research, data capture, analytical skills, and report writing, with the ability to draw clear conclusions from complex data.

  • strong numeracy and statistical analysis skills, with a background in mathematics and/or statistics.

  • required skills: computer literacy, research, planning and organization, and effective communication.

  • demonstrated understanding of the subject matter within the discipline and experience in conducting original research or scholarly activity.

  • developing network of academic, industry, and professional partners, and a developing research profile in the discipline or area of expertise.
