We now have an opportunity available for passionate and experienced Academic to join our team within the College of Science and Engineering as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, Chemical Engineering. 

  • Full-time; continuing
  • Academic Level B or C $106,593 - $148,787 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
  • Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
  • Level of appointment and remuneration will be commensurate will qualifications and experience

About the College of Science and Engineering 

The College of Science and Engineering is a comprehensive provider of world class research and undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a range of science, technology and engineering disciplines.

About the opportunity 

Join a team of sustainability-focused academics in the Engineers Australia Accredited chemical engineering program. Candidates within any field of Chemical Engineering are encouraged to apply with a preference for expertise related to sustainability, clean energy systems and/or critical minerals.  The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement, with a strong record of accomplishment of publication and attracting research grants in the field of chemical and process engineering relative to opportunity. The appointee will contribute in teaching and program development in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the discipline of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

 

What you can bring to the role 

  • An undergraduate degree in chemical engineering and a PhD qualification. Member of Engineers Australia or eligibility to receive membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Demonstrated capacity to teach undergraduate and/or post-graduate levels in chemical engineering.
  • Demonstrated research and/or industry experience in hydrogen technologies, sustainable energy systems, critical minerals, wastewater and tailings water treatment, life-cycle assessment and/or systems modelling.
  • Proven track record working in collaborative multi-disciplinary research teams, to efficiently organise and conduct research projects, publications and attracting research grants.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to outreach and marketing activities in a university, government department, research organisation or other relevant institution.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with students and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds.
