About the Faculty
The Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine is committed to shaping professionals distinguished by their superior scientific and clinical skills, as well as their ethics, compassion and humanity. Programs are offered in a range of scientific and health disciplines, including Medicine, Biomedical Science, Exercise and Sports Science, Health Sciences, Healthcare Innovations, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Each of these disciplines is underpinned by an active research program and the Faculty hosts a number of major research centres including the internationally renowned Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare . The Faculty has recently established the Bond University Health and Wellness Clinic , an interdisciplinary and holistic Allied Health Service to provide accessible and valuable care to the community.
About the Position
Deputy Dean
For an initial 5-year term, the incumbent will be a key member of the Executive leadership team and support the Executive Dean in shaping the Faculty's strategic direction to achieve its ambitious goals. They will champion excellence in teaching, learning, research, and service, fostering a sense of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose within the Faculty. Leadership in this role will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and success.
Associate Professor/Professor
As Associate Professor/Professor the incumbent will be required to have extensive educational and research expertise in one of our thriving disciplines, such as Biomedical Science, Exercise and Sports Science, Healthcare Innovations, Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and enhance our teaching and research outputs to deliver new opportunities and high-quality outcomes in the chosen discipline.
About the person
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A PhD in a relevant field along with extensive teaching experience and a strong track record of disciplinary or scholarly research
- Extensive experience in leading innovative university learning and teaching including management and development of academic staff
- Experience in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, program and Faculty reviews
- Experience with Faculty budgeting, financial management and resource coordination
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A strong collegial management style evidenced by excellent communication and relationship development skills
Salary details
- Professor remuneration commences at AU$215,265.21 per annum plus 17.5% superannuation.
- Associate Professor A remuneration commences at AU$184,208.27 per annum plus 17.5% superannuation.
A responsibility loading will be applied for the term of the Deputy Dean role, and the level of appointment and salary will be negotiated and commensurate with skills and experience and be fully competitive in the Australian market.
