- The role is full time, fixed term until January 2026
- Location options - Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas or Cairns Nguma-bada campus.
- HEWL 6: $85,816 - $92,948 with up to 17% superannuation.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE
As a Copywriter you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic copy concepts and content that highlight the unique benefits of our products and services. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll contribute to increasing audience engagement across multiple channels, ensuring our messaging is clear, accurate, and impactful.
Core Accountabilities:
- Create engaging long- and short-form content for promotional campaigns and student recruitment efforts that resonates with target audiences and drives action.
- Support the university's brand visibility through data-driven content evaluation, ensuring all messaging aligns with JCU’s goals and values.
- Maintain consistency across all content by reviewing and updating published materials, enhancing JCU's brand, style, and reputation.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, inclusive, and aligned with operational objectives.
- Contribute to the team culture by upholding values of authenticity, teamwork, respect, and innovation.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Digital Marketing, or a related field. Relevant experience in higher education or similar sectors is preferred.
- Proven experience in writing and producing content tailored to target audiences across print and digital media.
- High digital literacy with expertise in Microsoft and Adobe Suites, along with
- A solid understanding of content creation tools.
- Experience with or a willingness to learn Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) principles to ensure content ranks effectively in search results.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently.

The Directorate drives and encourages repeat engagement with the University and develops international partnerships and global mobility services that increase participation in higher education from a range of diverse backgrounds and expand JCU's global presence.
